Did She Say FREE??

A few weeks ago, on a whim, I threw my name in the hat for the Etsy "Weekend Deals" post...

What the heck, think positively and all that stuff...

Well, I got an email from an Etsy admin yesterday afternoon...

That meant burning the midnight oil last night (and that's OK, because boy child's birthday sleepover was last night. I still went to bed before they did!)...tidying the shop, sweeping the floors, adjusting shipping info...

I looked like this by the time I went to bed last night...

But the great news...
These stickers were chosen to be one of the featured items for this weeks' "Weekend Deals" on Etsy....

In exchange for this lovely, free PR, I am running a sale....a pretty darn good sale...FREE (yes, she did say free) shipping all weekend long!
Anywhere I ship (which really is anywhere), the shipping's on me, if you order and pay this weekend (through 11:59 EST, August 16).

And if you are a fan of my FB page, make sure you head on over there....I've got a little bonus "thank you" for you!
Heck, even if you become a fan this weekend, you're still eligible ('cause I appreciate you too!). Check it out!

So I hope to have a busy weekend, printing all sorts of FREE shipping labels....

Until Next Time,

Saturday Afternoon Surprise

Sometimes it really is the little surprises that make us happy. About a week ago I was chatting on the phone with my step-Mom. I like to pace when I talk on the phone. As I headed towards the computer area, I looked out the window that looks out on my very small, government- issued back yard. Right behind the fence of said yard, there is a small grove of trees-big beautiful trees- one of the things I actually like about my sardine-box 1960's duplex.

This was the view through the window (standing on a kitchen chair, of course).....

Seems one of those big beautiful tree is an apple tree....

This doe had that figured out long before I did.

Now, living on a military post that is fairly heavily wooded, we have allot of deer, turkeys, all sorts of critters wandering around. It is a fairly safe haven for them because for obvious reasons, you can't hunt amongst a ton of houses and other buildings. But being the wild animals that they are, they are still skittish when they see a human. I have never seen a deer this close to my back fence.

These pictures were not actually taken on the first day I saw this doe (no, I don't know if it's the same doe, but it's easier to go with the singular). I took these yesterday afternoon after my super-hunting poochy (ha), the sheltie named Molly was going bonkers in the back yard.

See that brown haze at the bottom of the photo? That's the top of my fence. This time I was standing on a patio chair, very gingerly, as they are the types of chairs that rock just a bit when you sit in them. Yes, that's quite a visual, isn't it? I think my new "deer" friend was laughing at me too. Hey, anything for the photo...

All I can say is despite the ruckus that Molly was creating (I did put her inside before I crawled out but she was still whimpering at the back door) and the human swaying precariously on the patio chair, this doe was not leaving until she was good and ready. She enjoyed her apple lunch for a good five minutes, in spite of her clownish audience....

...And then she sauntered off. But as loaded as this apple tree is, I suspect she will be back...

I'll be waiting because for some strange reason, this made my day....

Until Next time,

STEPH

The Most Wonderful Time of Year deserves a GIVEAWAY!

It's that time again....The October Issue of Create and Decorate is on the shelves!

If that cover doesn't make you ready for Fall...how about this?

This lamp is my contribution this issue...a little whimsical Halloween for your painting pleasure...

For some reason, when I re-subscribed (there are a few issues that I have no projects in, so I don't get complimentary copies), I ended up with two subscriptions. So in months where I also have a project, I end up with four copies. What better excuse for a giveaway?

In case that's not enough....Just because I feel like celebrating all sorts of "new" stuff ...new school year, new season, new issue of one of my favorite mags, new project for me...I'm going to give a couple of those issues away! Our last giveaway was in the winter, so it's time for a new one, don't you think?

All you have to do to win is leave a comment on this post. Tell me what your favorite thing about Fall is...

If you write about the contest on your own blog and link back to me, let me know by sending me an email with the link, and I will enter your name a second time!

What's in it for you? I will draw two lucky names who will each get a copy of the October issue of Create and Decorate , the candle lamp used and one set of two silicone dipped bulbs. All you will need to get started is the lampshade (and the source for that is in the article), paints and brushes.

Let's keep it open a few days, so we can get the word out...How 'bout you have until midnight on Labor Day to enter....

Come on, tell me what you love about Fall...

Good Luck everyone!

Until Next Time,

STEPH

P.S. You have to leave me some way to contact you, please (email is fine)! Anonymous posts with no contact info will be deleted. If I cannot connect with winners within a few days of trying, I will draw again....
